LumberJaxe offers 8 axe throwing lanes with 16 individual targets. Enjoy our cozy lounge serving local beer, wine, and other drinks. Conveniently located at 250 City Centre Ave #232-230. Our corporate capacity is 100 people, with coaching available. Online bookings or corporate reservations are highly recommended.

We also offer a selection of hot appetizers, perfect for smaller groups.

We are happy to open outside of our normal hours for larger bookings (6 or more)

LEARNING THE BASICS OF  AXE-THROWING

LumberJaxe is the ultimate axe throwing experience & private event destination

Everyone – regardless of ability - can learn to throw an axe with accuracy in a very short time. Follow these simple instructions to discover how much fun it is to watch your axe split the target every time!

Step 1. Stance
Stand with your feet shoulder width apart. Ensure your shoulders are square to the target. Now you’re ready to throw!

Step 2. GET A GOOD GRIP
Grab the axe with your dominant hand and the blade facing away from you.  For a double handed throw (advisable to start), cup your other hand over your dominant hand.

Step 3. Motion
Reach back with the axe over your head and step forward with your non-dominant foot.  i.e. If you’re right handed – you’ll step forward with your left foot.

Step 4. Release
Release the axe as if you are aiming a foot above the bullseye.  The weight of the axe will bring it down to the target. PRO TIP: after you release, finish by pointing at the bullseye; you'll have a better chance of hitting it!

Step 5. Stick It!
The axe should rotate once over and stick in the target.  Sometimes it doesn't.  It happens to the best of us. Lean on our friendly, helpful coaches for adjustments to fine tune your throwing motion and improve your results.

Jaxe isn’t a hipster, he doesn’t have a beard by choice, he was born this way. Rough and tumble on the outside but warm and friendly on the inside. His legacy is his guests success. When throwers leave with a smile on their face and a need to share the love of axe throwing in their hearts, he can rest his head with pride.

JILL

Jill won’t take second place to anybody in terms of axe throwing prowess. Including her husband, Jaxe.

Jill stands by her man but she won’t take second place or a back seat to anybody when it comes to anything, especially axe throwing. If she wants a bullseye, well she is gonna get one and there is nothing you can do about it. Jill believes that you can’t judge a book by its cover and encourages everyone to visit LumberJaxe, no matter their size, shape, gender or physical ability.

SUPER FUN!!! Came as a group of 4 and the time slot lets you throw for 1 hour! Had an amazing time and the staff were super friendly and great at teaching!I was struggling in the beginning, but the staff were so patient and taught me step by step! SO MUCH FUN! When I was told we were going axe throwing as a team outing, I was admittedly hesitant - me, axe throwing??? It was such a blast, the atmosphere at LumberJaxe is laidback so don't worry if you've never been - there's training and the guys are very knowledgeable and uber patient. If you don't want to throw stuff it's (almost) just as fun to watch your friends. Major kudos to the staff - 100% recommend!

Frequently Asked Questions

DO I HAVE TO MAKE A RESERVATION?

You are not required to make a reservation during our regular/walk-in hours Thursday – Saturday, though we do recommend it. For reservations outside of these hours (Monday – Wednesday & Sunday), a deposit is required at least 48 hours in advance. There is no minimum number of participants, and groups of 1-5 can reserve for one hour. Groups of 6 or more can reserve for 1.5 or 2-hour sessions.

DO YOU SERVE ALCOHOL? CAN I BRING MY OWN ALCOHOL?

You may not bring your own alcohol. LumberJaxe is proud to offer you beer, cider and wine available for purchase.

WHAT IS THE AGE LIMIT?

Guests under 18 must have an adult present to sign the minor's waiver on their behalf. The youngest age allowed to throw is 13.

DO I HAVE TO SIGN A WAIVER?

All guests must sign a waiver to be present at the venue, whether throwing or spectating. Guests under 18 must have an adult present to sign the waiver on their behalf.
