What do you mean by tournament?
We consider a tournament to involve a ‘round-robin’ preliminary round where participants play 2-3 games against a randomly selected opponent. We then do some math and find out the seedings, and place you in a playoff bracket. Then we play elimination matches until 1 champion is found.
What if I don’t want a tournament?
All good! Our coaches will tailor the experience to align with what you’re after.
No coaching needed?
Know how to throw already? If you’re a regular here, and we know that you know what you’re doing, you can qualify for our Friends and Family pricing for throwing (no coach needed). However, even if you do know what you’re doing, if you’re not a regular, the coaching is provided, and a discount is not possible, as we need to assess you (and your equipment) ourselves before allowing you to throw on your own.

The minimum age to throw with us is 13.
Ages 13-17 must have an adult present to supervise, but the adult does not need

LumberJaxe Questions:
What should I expect at LumberJaxe?
At LumberJaxe, we don’t just hand you an axe and say “good luck”. You’ll be provided with an expert coach to help you learn how to throw safely and successfully. Then we get into games! We’ve got a whole games book from games perfect for pairs (Around the World), to a tournament set up and run by your coach. Mastered your competitive throw? We’ve got tons of trick shots to try also. We do our best to tailor the experience to each group.
How far in advance do I need to book?
We recommend booking at least one week in advance. For larger groups, booking 2-4 weeks ahead of time is highly recommended. Our venue is small, and fills up quickly! For same day reservations, please call 613-702-8095.
Can I bring my underage child?
Although the minimum age to throw with us is 13, children under 13 may enter the facility so long as they're supervised by the adults in their group.
I don't want to throw. Can I still come watch?
Absolutely - we all need cheerleaders! There’s no charge to spectate, but you’ll still need to fill out a waiver like all other patrons.
How long do I book for?
Depends on the number of people! For groups of 2-5, 1 hour is often enough. For groups larger than 5 we require 90 minutes or two hours, which allows time for safety, training, coaching, games, tournaments, trick shots, and more! We take pride in tailoring the experience to what you're most interested in. If you'd like to stay longer, we're happy to extend your stay if our availability allows.
Do I have to make a reservation?
No, but we’re a small place that fills up quickly! We don’t mix different groups on the lanes. You’re welcome to try to walk-in, but we can’t guarantee any availability without advance booking. Give us a call at (613) 702-8095 to check availability with the front desk.
Is there parking available?
City Centre offers free parking for the first 1.5 hours (please note that you still need to enter your license plate information following a QR code, but you will not be charged for the first 1.5 hours) There is also free street parking (3 hours maximum).
I love this, how do I do it more?

Axe Throwing Questions:
What if I’ve never thrown an axe before?
Coaching is what we do! We’ll work through various types of throws and axe weights to find one that works for you.
What if I’ve done this before and I don’t want to do X?
Typically we start with a basic throw and game to get everyone comfortable with our equipment and safety rules. Once you show mastery of that, we’re happy to move to more advanced techniques, games, or you can just be left to throw if you prefer!
Are the axes heavy?
No, each axe weighs between 2-3lbs. We do have a variety of styles, and we'll find the one that best suits you!
What should I wear?
Closed toe shoes are a must. Wear comfortable,
non-restricting clothes.
What options do you have for people with limited abilities?
Axe throwing is a great sport for anyone and does not rely on the strength or speed of a person. Our coaches can work with you to find a throw that works; and we’re very good at what we do!
Can I bring my own axe?
Sure! The axe must be inspected and approved by the Manager on Duty. LumberJaxe reserves the right to refuse the use of any axe that does not meet the safety requirements.
